Fixed Income Team
Credit Analyst – Boston, MA 11/20/06
The Credit Analyst will be a member of the Credit team. In this capacity the analyst will be expected to generate investment ideas across both the investment grade and high yield corporate bond market. The analyst should be able to distill company management meetings, financial statements, and other information into a clear, concise investment thesis. This thesis will be debated among members of the investment team, where the analyst is expected to articulate and defend his/her thesis. This aspect of the role demands that the analyst have excellent verbal communication skills and ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment.Credit analysts on the team are fully integrated into the portfolio management process. As a member of the Credit Team, the analyst will participate in regular meetings to discuss the merits of individual investments as well as overall portfolio construction, risk management, and performance attribution. The analyst will be expected not only to understand the investment process, but also contribute to improving the process through research as experience develops those skills. Principal responsibilities may include:
- The candidate will be assigned one or more industries which they will have primary coverage responsibility
- Independently conduct fundamental research, focusing on industry and issuers’ fundamentals, debt structure, valuation and overall creditworthiness
- Maintain a ranking of securities within each industry and make relative return projections
- Analyze specific features and covenants of individual debt issues
- Use extensive fixed income analysis, ratio analysis including the off-balance sheet financing structures to get a better understanding of the financial health of corporations
- Operate in a team structure, and participate in active discussion on investment opportunities in other industries
Competencies for success:
- MBA in Finance from a top ranked institution with CFA charter achieved or in process would be ideal.
- Superior knowledge of assigned industries and companies
- Extensive financial statement analysis skills and understanding of capital structures; understanding the drivers of value creation within an enterprise is critical.
- Ability to independently value the equity of target coverage firms using appropriate industry multiples/valuation methods including DCF, P/E, EV, and SOP analysis.
- Ability to use non-conventional analytical methods for determining value and risk.
- Ability to value corporate securities using option adjusted spreads (OAS) and other binomial interest rate and swap rate methodologies.
- Ability to synthesize investment ideas into a clear excess return target and articulate the prospective volatility, correlation, and tracking error introduced by proposed trades.
- Ability to think and operate independently and manage priorities to have the greatest impact on the portfolios.
- Ability to defend his/her own investment thesis adequately and confidently in a group setting and also participate actively in other analyst’s investment presentations.
- Well-developed writing and verbal communication skills, and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work effectively and enthusiastically as part of a cohesive team, recognizing that the analyst has the responsibility to help the team achieve its common goals.
- Well developed human relations skills so that the analyst contributes to an environment of trust, cooperation and effective communication within the team, throughout OFI, and with clients.

Fixed Income Team
Senior Business Analyst – Boston, MA 05/21/07
Responsibilities:
- Helps define overall business strategy of Fixed Income portfolio and trading departments with regards to technology
- Provides regular communication to executives regarding progress to goals
- Assures alignment of development efforts and business goals
- Maintains and manages prioritization process for affiliated departments
- Provides project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (requirements, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals …etc)
- Manages resources in the local office and coordinates efforts with teams in other offices
Competencies For Success:
- Provides Mentoring to analysts and jr analysts
- Should have management competencies
- Leadership skills
- Strategic thinker
- At least 5-7 years of experience in the technology or financial services industry.
- Extensive front-office Fixed Income knowledge
- Knowledgeable of different asset classes – credit derivatives, mortgages, TBA’s, etc.
- Understanding of portfolio modeling and trading process
- Technology background
- Understanding of systems architecture & development process
- Experience with 3rd party vendors such as YieldBook, Bloomberg, etc.
- Able to recognize process & systems improvements needed for technology vision
